Rescued 08/11/2014

Meet the little black and tan boy. His people got him as a tiny pup. All was good till the
mange started.

He was then banished to the outskirts of the establishment on the farm. Kids threw bricks
and stones at him and they all chased him away.
Why? ‘Cos he was no good. He was sick. … and what did they do? They got a new puppy
to replace the ‘reject’, the ‘faulty’ one.

We live in a sad time where life means nothing. Not even when you are a baby.

Luckily for him, our volunteer who regularly keeps an eye in that area came across this
and whisked him away. Not him only, but his ‘replacement’ too!

When he came to farm, we climbed into the bakkie to meet our new fur’iends and were
met by a snarling petrified puppy hiding in the corner. Thoughts ran through our minds
and ripped at our hearts. How does a ‘person’ turn an innocent little baby into a fearful
being? How?

But he is young and some time later he enjoyed being on the lap and getting scratches.
For who can resist kissing and cuddling a mange puppy? The little hairless ears looks
like tiny bat wings.

We have named this beauty Fabio, as he is just so gorgeous. His young friend, now
named Picasso, is full of all things ‘puppy’ and in a good health although he had a bit
of an upset tummy.

Both are doing well and will soon be ready to go to their new furever families.

RIP

In loving memory: Winston

Our hearts go out to Alexandra, a dedicated volunteer and board member of Lucky Lucy,
and her family. They lost a friend and companion yesterday morning when he sadly died
of a heart attack.

Winston was adopted from Lucky Lucy about 3 years ago. We are sure Winston is looking
down from beyond the rainbow bridge with a big smile on his gorgeous face. He would want
to thank his awesome family for the best years of his life. You took him in and made his heart
and life whole again. You made him smile again after his previous life of abuse. Thank you so
much for giving him the life and love that he deserved.

Winston, remember your family and all of us at farm will love you furever and ever….

Till we meet again boy…. Always in our hearts…

Alex, big hugs from team LLF. We know losing a fur’iend is one of the worst things that
can ever happen. Our thoughts are with you and your family. A big thank you from us for
giving Winston the best home ever! Xxx

Herewith just some pictures I took this morning to show off what they utilized the funds for.
The rehab camps are completed and now only needs funds/sponsors for grass and more hands to help clean up the play area. Thank you to all the faithful volunteers who work their fingers
to the bone each weekend. Please do tag those who deserve a BIG thank you!”
