Mandela Day calls on us all, every day, to make the world a better place. Each year we look back on what has been done, and forward to what will be done.

TAKE ACTION. INSPIRE CHANGE. MAKE EVERY DAY A MANDELA DAY.

The Lucky Lucy Foundation celebrated Mandela Day on the 22nd of July 2017 and we were overwhelmed by the turnout of amazing people that came to make a difference in the lives of the animals in our care. Thank you to all our regular volunteers for always giving so selflessly of your time and energy and not expecting anything back in return except a wet nose, a wet lick on the face or a long purr of appreciation.

Thank you to all the amazing new people that came to our farm for the first time – it was absolutely amazing to make your acquaintance and we hope that you will become an integral part of our volunteer family in the future. We value the fact that you have given of your valuable time to spend it with all our animals and helped us to create an even more beautiful space where our animals can be happy and loved until they find their forever homes.

Thank you to each and everyone who helped us make this day a huge success by contributing financially, bringing us awesome donations and who assisted in raising much needed funds – you are all super stars!

To each and everyone that is part of our family and who will still become part of our family, we hope to see you next year again when we will continue to make the world a better place and bring about a significant change in the lives of each animal in our care!

Success Story of the month

Stevie The Wonder Cat

We have found out that this is a kitten that was living with his mother at the Sarah Baartman Centre for Abused Women & Children in Manenberg. One of the ladies that had been staying there took him home with her when she left last week, because her daughter was very attached to him. When their landlord found out, she was told that she wasn’t allowed pets, so she took him to the vet.

Lucky Lucy has advised that he needs to be with his mother because it is very likely that she is his “eyes”, so they are collecting the mother and they will both go into the care of Lucky Lucy Foundation Cats, until they can be homed together 🙂 Thank you so much Caryn, Patrys, Anyway and also to the vet and Sandy for helping get these two back together and for keeping this boy safe xxx
