Dear Lucky Lucy Volunteers and Supporters,
Several of our staff, volunteers and supporters will soon be involved in assisting the regular mass sterilization team, led by Dr. Annelize Roos in Atlantis. This important initiative, funded by the Western Cape Government, will once again make a substantial contribution toward curtailing the rampant animal births in the Atlantis area.
On the farm at Lucky Lucy our clinic plans are progressing and we hope to be in a position to tend our own animals and provide subsidized veterinary care to the impoverished communities around us. The great challenge is to equip the clinic and we will be discussing the mechanisms available to us to equip the clinic at the next board meeting in 2 weeks’ time. We will keep you posted.
Our kennels, which form our first income generating project on the LLF farm are complete and we now need to apply plaster primer, paint, erect the front fence and lastly the kennel door system. We will be ready to accommodate dogs from as early as mid-March, so please put the word out and ask potential clients to contact me directly on 0823784899. The LLF website will have all the necessary details on it by mid-March but until then I will manage bookings directly.
We recently received several pledges toward our sterilization projects as well as contributions toward the ever increasing veterinary bills and to those loyal supporters who made these contributions our very sincere thanks.
The weather will start to cool soon, so to those of you who have found the recent heat waves unbearable, pop out to the farm for a visit, we’d love to see you there.
