Winter is around the corner and we need to be prepared. We would appreciate any funding to complete the quarantine
area which has no roof. What is required to complete the roof is 6 metre corrugated sheets (approximately 60) and the
wood required to secure the rafters, so if that can be supplied in place of the funding, we would be most grateful.

Ablution facilities, utilising a plastic septic tank system and brick and mortar toilet structure, needs to be built for the
staff and public. We would be grateful if anyone could assist with supply of material.

It has been another busy week with animals being adopted, new arrivals and working on the farm. We would like to start
working on the cat garden for the retirees and special need cats.

From 14 April and 22 May 2015 all MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet supporters can vote for their favourite charity.

The charity that comes out tops will receive a R70 000 cash donation, 2nd place R35 000, 3rd place R25 000 and
4th to 10th place will all get a R10 000 donation.
We could really use a donation like this since we still need to build Quarantine camps, puppy camps, a cat garden,
volunteer area and office on the farm. Our current position: 9th place with 346 votes.

To vote takes 2 min – just follow these steps: How to vote for Lucky Lucy!

News

Please help Jack (27/4/2015).

He is not feeling well at all, in fact he feels awful. He’s been admitted to hospital and is currently on a drip as he was
diagnosed with the dreaded Parvovirus.

It is going to be touch and go but we need to be strong enough for Jack and BELIEVE that he will be strong enough
to pull through. Hospitalization for Parvo is very expensive, but we have no choice. Jack deserves to LIVE! He is precious
and his life priceless. Please help us to help Jack by sending pawsitive thoughts his way. Wrap him in your love and carry
him through this sickness so that he can emerge as a strong healthy boy. If you could help with his vet bill we would be truly
grateful. Every cent towards his care counts.

Just a short update on Jack(29/4/2015).

Jack is stabilized! He has no appetite yet and is still on a drip. Anyway visited him today in hospital and reports that he is definitely
improving. He will receive the best care in hospital while his little body is fighting the Parvovirus. You go Jack!
We know you are a strong little boy!

Rudo

Rudo really needs your help, please!

This boy was surrendered to another organisation when his previous owner could no longer care for him and his brother Caron.
Lucky Lucy was approached to assist with their further care because they could no longer stay at the that organisation due to
them already being 8 years of age.
We just could not walk away and we had to take Rudo and his amazing brother Caron. Rudo really is the ultimate feline
companion especially if you are looking for some true love in your life. His love knows no boundaries and he absolutely
adores attention. He a gorgeous, loveable, chatty and adorable male who will shower you with as much love as you can handle.
At the moment Caron is coping much better than Rudo in the shelter environment and although Rudo is full of confidence he
just cannot seem to settle in with his other companions.
We just cannot bare to see him unhappy and it is for this reason that we share his plea for a permanent home or a foster home
that will became his permanent home. He would love his brother to go with him, but at this stage finding Rudo a loving and
caring family would be the first prize.
Rudo would however prefer to be part of a household with no other kitties or if he could be adopted with his brother that
would be wonderful!.
So if you have a small space in your home and in your heart then please email us at cattery@luckylucy.org.
This boy can be adopted or fostered. Ours boy has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids, sterilised, microchipped
& vaccinated with the required vaccines which includes the FeLV vaccine.

Update on Tino

Tino has been in our care for 3 weeks now since he was left as a hit & run victim with a broken leg.
Pins were put in place to try to save his leg.

Yesterday, Tino decided that since he has been in the clinic area for 3 weeks, he has seen and heard enough to progress
to being a vet himself…

So he took off his own bandages.
Boy! Did he give us a fright!
We took him to the vet immediately to make sure his leg was still fine. We are ecstatic to say it is healing wonderfully!
Another few weeks of cage rest and a small operation in 5 weeks’ time to remove the pins and Tino will be as good as new.
(Though he will never be able to use his leg 100% like before.)

We are so grateful that his leg could be saved!

Phase 2 of the cat garden:

Last week we reported on our new Kitten Garden. Seeing the absolutely amazing transformation in our kittens made
us realize that we just have to revamp all our gardens. Phase 2 will be the new garden for the retirees and our special
needs kitties. We love all our cats and kittens as if they are our own but the retirees and special needs kitties are extra
special to us. None of us know how long we will be blessed with the presence of these special souls in our lives and we
want to do something special for them before winter finally arrives.

Your faces may start to have grey fur,
Your fragile little bodies wearing thin by the day,
Your eyes are still bright but we don’t know for how much longer,
What will we do when you decide to go our precious little souls?
We were allowed a small little part of your lives
And even though we could not change your past we surely want to change today and the time you still have with us,
You will always be our precious ones and you will be forever in our hearts,
Please remember we will love you till the end!
It is an honor to walk with you through the final chapter of your life!
