Lucy

Our call to action was driven by a single purpose:

A heavily pregnant dog tied to the railway line under the R44 bridge in Wellington. She was hit by a train and found on Jan 28, 2010. She was named Lucky Lucy and started the Lucky Lucy Foundation. Today she is an ambassador for animal cruelty, animal abuse and lack of education.
Our sole purpose and objective is to restore health, dignity and love. We run a Rehabilitation Shelter for severely neglected and abused animals on a farm close to Malmesbury, and, with time, dedication and love we restore the smiles to those that give us unconditional love.

The Lucky Lucy Foundation is a stepping stone of hope for neglected and abused pets in the Greater Cape Town. With your help we teach responsible pet ownership to destitute communities by promoting proper pet health, sterilisation and feeding programs. By keeping pets in loving homes instead of on the street, we give all our citizens the opportunity to have healthy, happy and loving pets and to bring the best out in our people. We provide a comfortable and stimulating temporary home for all our rescues at our shelter, where the public can lavish love and affection on them and make it easy to adopt or foster in a stress free environment. We actively help the worst cases, the NO HOPE LEFT ones that would otherwise be sent over the rainbow bridge. However this does not mean we accept suffering unnecessarily but everyone that comes our way will get the best chance at having a better life, no matter how much time or money they may need.
