Our Canine Outreach Core Team (Anyway, Bonile, Salomie, Joanne and Louise) is assisted by a group of volunteers who selflessly give their time and love to assist with outreach programs. We also have a few dedicated staff members that we cannot do without during our outreach. The CANINE MED TEAM consists of Anyway, Bonile, Lunga and Salomie and are responsible for all medical treatment at our Foundation.

Don’t Confiscate and Euthanize, Educate and Sterilize!
At The Lucky Lucy Foundation we LIVE our slogan. We reach out to the communities to assist them in providing the best care for their furkids. We educate and persist until they allow us to sterilize their furkids. We treat each and every furkid as one of our own and share in their guardians’ tears and joy.

We provide food, shelter, medical care, tick and flea treatments, vaccinations, deworming, microchipping and sterilizations. We assist with all medical issues from minor bite wounds to big surgeries that require pins and plates to fix broken bones. We follow a strict maintenance program to ensure that their treatments are kept up to date. Each has their own vet card and a record in our administrative electronic system (and they share a place in our hearts forever!).

We currently (October 2015) look after 133 outreach furkids in a vast area that includes: Witsand, farms near Paarl, farms near Kuilsrivier, farms near Witsand, Klipheuwel, Kuilsrivier, various settlements near our shelter on the N7, Philadelphia and Kraaifontein.

Outreach work comes at a price. Monetary and emotionally. We have seen grown men cry when being faced with the living conditions of the furkids when we first start out in an area. This gradually changes into a happy environment where the furkids benefit tremendously. Visiting a community and seeing the healthy furkids HAPPY to see us is the reason why we continue to fight for them. They show us that we are making a difference, but to make a difference we need YOUR suppawt. It costs an average of R500 per furkid, this excludes additional medical care, petrol and costs for when they have to stay with us for a while to recover.

For the future we would like to continue to suppawt these furkids and our mission is to help even more souls and to really boost our sterilization program. Please help us to make a difference in many more lives! Join our Guardian Angel program and ensure that our work continues!

Warm Regards

Kittens looking for a homeour cattery is overflowing with new arrivals!

Kitten season has officially arrived – we currently have five moms and their kittens in our care as well as two litters of bottle babies.
The one litter of bottle babies mom was hit by a car and she is unable to care for her four babies.
Bottle feeding is a tough task and requires real commitment and dedication as kittens have such a compromised immune system.
We have four beautiful kittens and many adults and juveniles whose bags are packed and they are ready for their forever homes.
Please help us to make space for the numerous needy moms and kittens who will require assistance over the silly season.
We need to make space for the many who will be abandoned and abused over Christmas period too.

To adopt any of these gorgeous kittens please email: cattery@luckylucy.org
