Cat Village ……. Creating a Dream – an open garden called the LLF Cat Village!!
A place our cats can call home until such time they are ready to write the next chapter of their life!
Our aim is to create a sanctuary with an open garden for our adult cats at the Lucky Lucy Foundation, a place where they can roam freely, play and relax. We want to create sacred spaces for them that are safe, special, beautiful, tranquil and pleasing to their senses. This garden will be created with a purpose beyond its beauty, a place where each one of them will find comfort and healing for their spirit especially if their journey was hard. It will have special spots that will invoke rest, relaxation, serenity and harmony for them and those visiting them.

We will create spaces that will focus on :

(1) Flowers for colour and aroma;
(2) Medicine wheels that will focus on enhancing health;
(3) Trees, shrubs and other plants that will provide privacy screens for special spots of relaxation;
(4 )We will also pay tribute to each and every kitty that was part of the Lucky Lucy family and who has crossed Rainbow Bridge.

As you can see the possibilities are endless and we will spare no effort to continue to create a special space for the cats in our care.
However, we cannot do this without our supporters and it is for this reason that we need your assistance because without your support there is no story, no hope and no new beginnings for the animals in our care or for the ones that will be joining us in the future.
An amazing lady that is a landscaper, has offered her expertise and time and has designed this sanctuary for our cats and will make sure that our dream will turn into reality.
We have grouped the required items together and will be posting the lists of items over the next few days. If you have any of these items laying around your home then please consider donating it towards the establishment of our Cat Village or if you can lend a hand in terms of a financial contribution/sponsor towards the purchase of some of the items then please consider doing it. Please be part of this life changing experience for each and every kitty that is and will ever be part of the Lucky Lucy Foundation.

It is hard to believe that the first 3 months of the year have passed, before we know it, it will be winter and we still have plenty to do to get the camps ready for winter. If anybody can help over weekends please mail volunteer@luckylucy.org

We are lucky to have dogs and cats adopted every week but as one leaves one or more come in. We wish we could help all the animals but unfortunately we don’t have the infrastructure or finances to help any more animals than those we currently have.

Our Outreach team has been busy visiting farms and arranging vaccinations, deworming and sterilization of the animals. The need out there is huge but we will tackle it bit by bit and hope to make a difference.

As part of our fundraising initiative we have three microchip events planned for April, please bring you animals if you live in the areas.

We are planning a cat village, please see the section about it later on in the newsletter.

We urgently need plenty of paving if anybody has contacts with any paving companies.

News

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

It’s true, sometimes life hands you some real gems! We are absolutely sure…. these two are beyond precious and their joy priceless!

Meet little Redro and Dahlia who joined our LLF family on 24 March 2015 after they were found in a bin behind Bloekombos Kraaifontein.

They are currently being treated for mange, but they are super happy playful pups. It is as if they don’t have a care in the world. They love their baths and soak up every drop of pampering!

Here is a pic of the two, brother and sister, when they were picked up.

Please consider helping Redro and Dahlia with their treatments. Some of their treatment includes Puppy Advocate, F10 shampoo and Ectodex.

E-mail guardianangel@luckylucy.org if you want to sponsor a furbaby. As little as R50 a month will enable you to help care for a furkid.

Alternatively YOU can become a SPECIAL SPONSOR if you sponsor a furkid for R300 a month.

Adopted Fur-kids!

Happy Chelsea

Chelsea, our special needs kitten whose back legs were completely lame for the first 10 weeks of her life, found her purrfect Furever Family …..

Little Chelsea learned to use her back legs and over time she got strong enough to walk, run and jump. Although her legs might not be perfect we assure you her love made up for her disability.

A MOMENT WHERE LIFE BEGINS & LOVE NEVER ENDS!

We are so happy to announce that our awesome special needs girl Chelsea has found her purrfect furever home with Johan and Louisa.

Thank you so much for giving this awesome girl a second chance and for opening your hearts and home to her.

We wish all of you years filled with cuddles, love and joy together!

Thank You’s!
