We had another busy week. Nearly all the poles of the perimeter camp area are planted and we will start with the fencing soon.

  • We urgently need fencing: Diamond mesh – 3m height, 15m rolls, 2.5mm thickness and a 50mm diamond(NB – Galvanized). We need 140 rolls and they will cost around R700 per roll if we buy in bulk. The normal retail price is R1390.00!
  • Strong men & woman are welcome to join us building camps over the next few weekends please mail volunteer@luckylucy.org

    • If you could donate some fencing or make a donation towards buying some we would be very grateful!

 News

Meet Belle – Look at me and tell me I am not a WHOLE dog…
My love is WHOLE, my soul is WHOLE and I am perfect.

  • Why can’t they see that? Why don’t they want me back? Just because I have 1 less leg doesn’t mean I am any different!
  • I am doing so well in rehab. I am adjusting to this new life super fast! Must be because I’m a natural on 3 legs and my ability to keep smiling & wagging my tail.
  • I’ve been staying at Lucky Lucy since I was run over on the farm where they did an outreach. The doc had to amputate my leg and now my people amputated me from their lives. I am UNWANTED by them.

Please don’t let me stay here for long; I need to be part of a family that would love me just the way I am….
To adopt me: e-mail the ladies at adoption@luckylucy.org to take me home. I want to be your perfect furkid!

Remember our Prince Charming!

He did not get to LLF on a white horse, but he came…. out of the blue…. over a wall….in a bag….

– This is how Maison landed up with the man who brought him to our shelter on 11 July 2014.
– Maison is already looking so much better and is doing very well in his foster home, but the time has come for our prince charming to go to
  his furever home.
– He is filled with love and happiness even though he had in rough start in life. NOTHING is going to get this little Prince Charming down!!!

Somewhere out there is a family just waiting to be swept off their feet by our gorgeous prince.
Please mail adoption@luckylucy.org if you want to adopt this handsome boy.

Meet our special girl …. LUNA!

* Luna is a gorgeous, loveable, girl whom we met when she was left in our care with her mother and siblings. She is between 1 – 2 years of age and will
supersede all your superstitions about a black kitty.
* She only knows the Shelter environment and the most valuable gift we could wish upon her would be a furerver home to call her own.
* This precious girl absolutely thrives on affection and cuddles and her love for you will have no boundaries. She definitely is the diamond your family have
  always been looking for.

For an adoption inquiry to meet Luna please mail cattery@luckylucy.org
NB: All our cats are tested & vaccinated with the required vaccines which include the FeLV vaccine.
* An adoption fee of R450 is applicable which include the sterilsation and microchipping. Strict home checks apply.

Update on adopted furkids

RIP

In loving memory of Tessa and her son

Bea-

Bea was surrendered to us when she was picked up as a stray. We immediate start looking for her owners but none came forward so far.

While doing her admission it was clear that this little girl was in serious need of help as her teeth were extremely bad. It must have been so painful trying to eat. But most concerning was the hard lumps on her tummy. Ones you could see and others lurking beneath the skin that could be easily felt.
We took this baby to the vet and the outcome was not good. In fact it was horrible. She had advanced breast cancer that has spread through her tiny body, making her feel terrible. We could not sit back and let her suffer any more.

Bea, we know that you’ve crossed our paths for a reason. Thank you for brightening our lives with the little time you’ve spend with us. We are thankful that you were found and brought to us, thankful that you did not have to die in terrible pain, hungry and all alone somewhere under a bush.

Bea, keep our love with you till we meet again, sweet angel.
We love you!

Thank you’s
