The Lucky Lucy Foundation is pleased to welcome sixteen PACT cats and kittens of various ages ranging from three months to four years.
Their journey began on the 1st of February 2015 when we spotted a Facebook post about kittens who had had been in cages since they were tiny.
We agreed to take in the kittens and six adults who were all being housed in cages at their Welfare Organisation’s vet.

The preparations began – we had to have them all tested and vaccinated prior to getting them to Cape Town from Durban.

A big thank you to Erica from Animal Travel Services who arranged the transportation and to the donor who donated the transportation fee.
The precious cargo arrived on two different flights on the 26th of February 2015 and a huge thank you to Patrys, Zoe and Anyway for collecting them from the airport and making sure they were comfortable in their new home that night.

Their reaction to their new space was absolutely priceless and we all had a tearful moment when some of them experienced grass for the first time in their lives. There was no end to the running and jumping and they clearly approved of the space that they now can call home until they find their own furever families.

A special Thank you must also go to Lynette Naidoo and the tireless ladies at PACT for saving these precious souls and allowing us the honour of assisting with the next part of their journey.

Their journey with us has only just begun and we will do our utmost to ensure their travels end in a happily forever after home in the Western Cape.

A special poem to our new loved ones …..
When you first passed through our gates,
We were ready to love you as you are,
If you ever feel lonely please know we will be there to cuddle you,
If you ever scared we will make sure you are safe,
If you are hungry we will feed you,
If you are sick we will comfort you,
If you are cold we will warm you,
And if you are ever confused we will guide you.
You are in a special world now,
A new special bond has formed between us all,
And though this new beginning might seem tough for some of you,
Know that we have a special bond that will bind us closer,
And keep us strong in this special world of ours where we all belong!
You are one of us now and forever!
We promise you that we are dedicated to this cause until each one of you has a furever family!

All of these kitties have tested Negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids, vaccinated, microchipped and sterilised

Snowy

Meet Snowy as she is known to her people … no white hair….but in her heart it is winter and cold.

She came up to Bonile as he took some of our staff home, as if she knew this angel will be able to help her. She was right. Off he whisked her … to help this girl that spoke to him. Tonight she will sleep without all those horrible blood sucking crawlies from hell all over her. It will be a peaceful night, thanx to her savior Bonile.

Snowy is just one of thousands out there that needs help… it breaks our hearts knowing that… We will do an update soon about the other furkids we helped the past weekend….

“Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.” Martin Luther King

Meet Lady – up for adoption!

Update on adopted “Fur-kids”

Happy Birthday to Cindy who turned 2 !!!

To Cindy’s mom:
Thank you so much for putting smiles back on our faces this morning after a sad weekend doing outreaches in the community.
We cannot thank you enough for the amazing home you’ve given this girl! You are truly an amazing family. Wish ALL our babies can find wonderful families like yours. A puppy is a blank canvas and you are the artist. Belinda, you have painted a masterpiece! Thank you!
A big BIG kiss for the birthday girl and warm hugs for the rest of the family.
Message from Belinda
Hi guys,
Today is our baby’s 2nd birthday and she will be celebrating it at her creche with all her woofie friends. After we adopted her, she went to puppy socializing and then obedience school and passed with flying colours…she is so bright.
She attends creche every day and the teacher says she’s got such a wonderful en loving personality. She is basically the babysitter, as all the pups LOVE her and they also use her for introductions if a new “scholar” arrives for his/her first day.
We included some pics of her b’day party and her beautiful outfit.
Our warmest thanks again for giving us the opportunity to give her a home and in return receiving unconditional love, affection and lots of laughter from her.
Warmest regards,
The Van Zyls & Kie

Thank you’s

To the Supporters and Volunteers of Lucky Lucy Foundation 12 March 2015

Please share this newsletter with friends, family and colleagues and remember to visit our website to see all the cats and dogs waiting for their forever home.

We have been lucky with quite a few cats and dogs who found homes. Please encourage your friends and family to rather adopt than buy. The more animals we home, the more we can help.

We still have a lot of work to do to complete the dog camps and aim to have it done before winter. If there are any handy men or woman who would like to help or even sponsor a camp please mail volunteer@luckylucy.org

We urgently need lots and lots of paving if anybody has contacts with paving companies.
